    We made sure Kaya outlasts all the curious friends. The cloth is made from hemp fiber crafted by Tanzanian artisans. The inside is built with industrial graphite-light and powerful. The base is made of African wood, sourced carefully from local cooperatives.

    Not only do all 3 Kaya speakers look and feel like a family, they also work together. Play music across all the speakers around the house with just a few words.

    The Kaya logo on the top is an indicator of the battery level. It also provides a nice presence into the room while a long press will turn the device on or off. During pairing bars of the logo indicate the wifi signal intensity.

Isaya Yunge was recognized by Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 as a promising change-maker in the continent and received “The Queens Young Leaders Award 2018” from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, for his work using technology to impact communities and lives with sustainable solutions. As an alumni of the Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program, Isaya is passionate about advocating for a tech startup friendly environment, with the goal of inspiring innovation and African technological advancement.

    Donald is a Tanzanian Creative Lead and Sr. Art director with 10 years of experience in Advertising, Brand Design and Product Innovation. He predicates his work on soulful, creative and impactful storytelling. He has designed for top brands including Salesforce, LinkedIn, Square Inc, NBA, Playstation and Logitech to name a few. Donald started his career in Dubai at Lowe Mena & partner before moving to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. Early in his career, he created an award-winning campaign for the Season of Sharing to raise money to prevent homelessness. Donald served as lead on the campaign that closed with a record high of over $1.8 million and a Best of Show Gold ADDY in the Suncoast Addy's Award. Donald continues his work in Silicon Valley, helping the world’s most influential companies value brand and business growth through creative marketing.

    Phnam is a French Industrial Designer and Creative Director with 15+ years experience designing hardware in Audio, Wearables, Neurotech/Biotech, Luxury & Fashion, Packaging, Sports and Aerospace. She has designed and led teams at varied design consultancies including IDEO, Lunar, Matter and Lifestyledesign. Phnam's work spans 4 continents, and companies ranging from Fortune 500's to startups. Clients include Intel, Comcast, Facebook, Atari, Halo Neuroscience and more. She speaks internationally on the subject of “Design for a Better Future”, covering stories of groundbreaking technologies, responsibility, design thinking and education. Phnam also teaches industrial design at California College of the Arts and mentors at Founder Institute.

    Mardis is an American Industrial Designer and Creative Director with 15+ years of experience in Consumer Electronics, Neurotech, Lifestyle, Soft Goods and Packaging. He specializes in fast, technical execution and has spent extensive time overseas shepherding products through mass production to ensure design intent. He has designed for the likes of Nike, Facebook, Logitech, Dell, Intel, Chevron, Jiffy Lube, Corning, Symantec and for mid-sized companies and startups too numerous to count. His direct efforts have garnered tens of millions of dollars in sales and venture capital funding. Prior to his career in industrial design, he worked for fifteen years in the graphic design field, managing branding, and digital design teams. Mardis teaches Sustainability & Social Impact at the California College of the Arts.

    Cyril is a South African IP attorney and entrepreneur with 8 years of experience in intellectual property, technology, and entertainment law. After earning his law degree and Masters in IP and technology law, Cyril joined White & Case LLP where he worked in patent litigation and IP transactions. After his time in private practice he pivoted in-house, initially at Box, Inc. and later Dolby Laboratories, Inc. Over the years he's counseled sales teams and sales management teams on a variety of licensing, intellectual property, commercial, and anti-trust law topics; partnered with various business units on legal issues related to new and existing licensing programs; and advised teams on legal compliance, intellectual property protection, marketing, and adequate documentation of creative relationships.

Jeremy's experience spans multiple industries including Education, Media/Entertainment, and Software. He previously co-founded a social network for international students in the US after graduating with his Computer Science bachelor's degree. He is currently leading the Hiring Intelligence engineering team at LinkedIn - responsible for a billion+ dollar enterprise SaaS business helping hirers plan, strategize, and source the best talent for their companies.
